The Edina ABC scholars have mandatory study hours each night from 7:30pm to 9:00pm. Volunteer tutors are present each night to help with math problems, review essays, provide historical context for things our scholars learn about in school, etc.
If you live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and would like to volunteer to be a tutor, please contact us for more information.
Each student has one or two host families. The families voluntarily bring the scholars into their homes on Sunday afternoons, some school vacations, and when they just feel like doing family things together. Families pitch in to take the scholars school shopping; to make runs to Target; and they attend football, basketball, and hockey games; go to the cabin for the weekend; play video games, etc. In other words, they make the students feel like they have a "home away from home."
If you’re interested in learning more about reaching out to one of our scholars by becoming a host family, please contact us.
There are three key events each year where volunteer help is appreciated:
If you are interested in volunteering for a special event, please contact us.
